This week I had the pleasure of having dinner at Monmouth Kitchen in Covent Garden for an influencer event with TBP, and what a treat it was! Revelling in relaxed luxury in the heart of Seven Dials, the modern restaurant embraces the art of shared dining with a sophisticated yet unassuming setting. Monmouth Kitchen evokes an ambience that recreate the culinary delights of the Mediterranean, and offers a contemporary selection of Italian and Peruvian small plates complemented with the finest wines and signature cocktails. They also have two other restaurants, Mayfair Kitchen and Leicester Square Kitchen, which are now both on my list of places to try since the food, drinks and atmosphere were top notch.
Let me tell you about the food! So essentially it is similar to tapas, they have an incredible selection of small plates and they recommend 3 to 4 plates per person. If you are in a bigger group like we were, then you can share a number of the dishes and put them in the middle of the table and pick and choose what you fancy. The great thing about this restaurant is that the dishes are served as soon as they are made, so everything doesn’t come at once, instead it is scattered depending on what you have ordered. I found this to be a really social way to eat and gave us time to actually pause inbetween dishes and catch up over good cocktails. I honestly could have ordered the whole menu, I liked so many things on there, but some of my absolute favourites were definitely the tuna tacos, wild mushroom risotto, the beef sliders, lobster ceviche and the calamari (just to name a few!) And if you want to go somewhere in London that serves the very best cocktails, head to Monmouth – they were epic! I don’t usually like cocktails, I find them too sweet so I am very much a gin or prosecco kinda girl, however – I tried the Peach Bellini and Margarita Smash and wow, they were SO good!
A big thank you to Monmouth Kitchen for hosting us, it was certainly a night to remember and somewhere I will be visiting a lot more of! You can make a reservation at Monmouth HERE or give them a call on +44 (0) 20 7845 8607.
