A Healthy Eatery With A Twist, Yeotown Kitchen

This week I tried a new healthy eatery in the heart of Marylebone called Yeotown Kitchen. I had briefly heard of this ‘new cafe on the block’ and came across their Instagram page a while back. I was desperate to see what it was all about so made the time on Thursday to check it out – and I can tell you, it certainly didn’t disappoint and lived up to all expectations!

Yeotown Kitchen is not your usual cafe or ‘healthy eating’ place, it is a wellbeing concept. Located on stunning Chiltern Street, Yeotown is London’s first mindfulness cafe that combines healthy eating with the chance to enjoy a tranquil break in a meditation pod, offering a boost for the mind as well as the body. Cool idea right?

Driven by the Yeotown mantra “strong in body, clear in mind”, they serve a healthy but really delicious menu that offers both take-away and eat-in options. Their mindfully sourced, seasonal menu features items such as hot pots and soups as well as superfood smoothies, salads and “nice creams” (for when Spring finally decides to show itself!) As I was there for an early breakfast, I ordered the avocado toast with a side of mushrooms and tomatoes. It was beautifully presented and the flavours were amazing. My friend opted for the acai bowl which also tasted delicious and was very insta-worthy! I loved that they had named each option on the menu after character strengths such as Patience, Determination and Creativity – it was all these little touches that made Yeotown really unique.

What really caught my eye though, was the interior. I loved the clean-lined and bright space they have designed – it features oak wood panels, cork leather banquettes, window-side bench seating and bright yellow alfresco tables. They had also thoughtfully integrated messages that complemented carefully crafted products that would make you stop and think, and really embrace the moment.

What I found so wonderful about the place, was it’s purpose to help cultivate optimum wellbeing in both the mind and body.  With mental health issues reaching an all time high in both the UK and abroad, the founders have successfully expanded the conversation around the definition of a “healthy lifestyle” beyond the green juices and kale we always see on our Instagram feeds. Filled throughout the space are little quotes and reminders to breathe, let your mind be kind to yourself and to enjoy moments of mindfulness throughout your day. And of course, it also offers an incredible meditation station that I intend to make full use of! Customers are encouraged to relax and recharge by choosing any of the Yeotown’s five minute meditations, which include:

Thank you Yeotown Kitchen for a morning of mindfulness accompanied by nourishing and delicious food, I highly recommend anyone trying this wonderful cafe and I will definitely be back very soon.
