10 Wardrobe Essentials You Need This Autumn

Isn’t Autumn just the best? I absolutely love dressing for Autumn – you can wear so many different styles and layer different pieces to make your outfit look casual as well as smart. However, I do find that sometimes the essential items in our wardrobe are the ones we lack. You know, the staple pieces that help pull your wardrobe together? I call them your ‘wardrobe essentials’, the ones that make up the core of your wardrobe and will be a big help when pulling outfits together. So I have put together my 10 personal wardrobe essentials that you guys may want to invest in this Autumn.

Aviator Jacket

An over-sized jacket is a must-have in my wardrobe! I absolutely love this aviator that I bought recently from Zara – it is a perfect fit that is simple, stylish and affordable. A great alternative to a designer jacket that doesn’t break the bank!

Sunglasses

A pair of sunnies are a great investment all year round, and when the autumn sunshine is out, they are perfect to add style to your outfit. I have a bit of an obsession with all things black, so these blacked out shades from Gucci were a perfect find for me.

Cashmere Jumper

When it comes to Autumn dressing, there’s nothing like a cosy cashmere jumper on a cold crisp morning. I love the detail of this textured round neck jumper, the flared flute sleeve makes it that little bit more dressy, a perfect find from Marks and Spencer.

Biker Boots

A pair of black leather ankle boots are a wardrobe must, and I love the pretty buckle detail, making this River Island pair stand out from the rest. The heel is also the perfect height to carry you from morning to night.

Fitted Blazer

The perfect combination of polished and cool; I tend to team a blazer with blue jeans and trainers for an everyday look, or dress it up with a shirt and heeled black boots. Definitely one of my favourite wardrobe essentials!

White Shirt

A white shirt is such an important piece of clothing to have in your wardrobe – whether you wear it for an interview, a meeting or just out with friends, a white shirt always looks chic and classy. I loved teaming this shirt with my blazer and black heeled boots.

Knitted Dress

The easiest hack for having your legs out in Autumn? Swap summer dresses for chunky knitted styles. A knitted dress is a perfect off-duty look with boots and a statement bag – and once the weather gets really cold, just add tights or long boots for a chic throw-on look.

Shoulder Bag

You can never go wrong with a cute shoulder bag to hold your phone and lipstick! And Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) seems to be the bag brand of choice for any self-confessed street styler this year.

Roll Necks

Whether its a jumper or a dress, a great roll neck is a must-have in your wardrobe. They are great for those really ice cold mornings when you need that extra bit of warmth. There are also so many super stylish and comfy options out there, on the high street and designer stores.

Knee High Boots

I mean, what girl doesn’t want to own a pair of knee high boots? They are stylish, sexy and go with pretty much everything. They are an all-time winner when you need to wear something casual during the day and dressy in the evening. I switch between flat and heeled knee high boots depending on where I am going!
